1.Histoty of Department – Established in the year 2007-08, the students have shown great interest from the very beginning. In sync with the global scenario the Department empowered the incumbents to secure jobs in the hardware and software industries. As per Calcutta University guidelines CBCS have been implemented with great reception from the students. Apart from studies the students are also encouraged to participate in co-curricular activities. They are also encouraged in their career progression with right suggestions.

2.Mission and vision –

    Vision - The Department endeavors to facilitate state of the art technical education in the field of Electronics by infusing scientific temper in the students leading towards research and to grow as center of excellence in the field. The vision of the department is to provide education to students that is directly applicable to problems and situations encountered in real life and thus foster a successful career. The department aims to provide the best platform to students and staff for their growth.

    Mission –

    To create a passion amongst students for contributing to research by providing industry oriented learning.

    To impart in depth knowledge in principles and applications related to design and development of various systems for societal needs.

    To build the skill sets, attitude and core competence of students and faculty by providing them with the opportunity to organize various technical events which will bring out their inherent talents.

    To produce graduates with technical expertise, professional attitude and ethical Values.

    To instil creative thinking through innovative and team based methods which develops the entrepreneur skills, employability and research capability among professionals.

    To inculcate in the graduates, the thirst for life-long learning and guide them to obtain thorough knowledge in their chosen interdisciplinary field.

4.Dept.infrastructure – All Instruments of Basic Electronics Lab, Digital Lab, Communication Lab, Microprocessor Lab, Computer Lab, Network Theory Lab( Signal Generator, CRO, PC, Microprocessor/ Microcontroller KIT, LR/CR/LCR KIT, AM KIT, Digital ICs, Wires and Circuit Boards)

5.Future plan – Aim is to upgrade the infrastructure and look to Open Honors Courses in the Department. Students are to be catered with more and more hands on exposure to experiments and hence increase their employability skills.

Achievement – It’s of great pleasure to count achievements of the Department. Successful career opportunities are created for the students. Most of the outgoing students are either employed or pursuing higher education. It’s of great pride that all graduate from this course with flying colors securing more than 60% marks in both theory and practical.
